NEUST GABALDON TEACHER EDUCATION FACULTY, SDO RIZAL ANNEX SUCCESSFULLY TEAM UP IN A RESEARCH PRODUCTIVITY TRAINING WORKSHOP

RIZAL, Nueva Ecija – Five (5) faculty members from the Teacher Education Program conducted a District Training on Research last January 30, 2024 during the in-service training of Schools Division of Nueva Ecija Rizal Annex at Rizal District Conference Hall.
The partnership between SDO Rizal Annex and TEP Faculty Gabaldon Campus started during the pandemic through virtual training and consultations on research writing. During her inspirational message, Rizal District Supervisor Dr. Elizabeth P. Sibayan expresses her gratitude towards the TEP Faculty, headed by program chairperson Mr. Jaypee R. Del Rosario who is also a homegrown Rizaleño, for finally conducting an in-person training on research among the teachers and school heads of Rizal District. “Maswerte tayo, we have research experts na malapit sa atin [at] gusto nilang tumulong. Nandito si Jaypee, kababayan natin [siya] at kahit na marami silang ginagawa naglaan sila ng oras para sa tulungan tayo, so let us not waste this opportunity and strive to be productive,” Dr. Sibayan expressed.” The training aims to further strengthen the research culture among DepEd schools by producing quality research outputs.
A total of 66 participants attended this training-workshop. Together with Mr. Del Rosario who presented the topic on Research Design, Data Analysis, and Validity and Reliability of Instruments, the following TEP faculty members served as resource speakers on the following topics: Dr. Rasha Amira S. Khalil, RET Chair of Gabaldon Campus, who talked about Crafting Research Title and Research Questions; Ms. Rozette Cohleen D. Parungao, Editor-in-Chief of Balitang RET, who discussed Writing the Rationale, Introduction, and Literature Review; Dr. Miranella D. Tiangco, Head of the Office of Student Affairs Services who emphasized the Significance of the Study and Scope and Delimitations of the Study; and Assoc. Prof. Remelie D. Salazar, Adviser of Gabaldon Local Student Government who elaborated on the difference between Quantitative and Qualitative Research.
The lecture proper commenced in the morning session. Prior to the title presentation and open forum, Dr. Rowena R. De Guzman, Master Teacher II at Canaan East National High School, reiterated the guidelines, forms, certification, and policies for Effective Proposal Submission and Evaluation. Dr. De Guzman is one of the grantees of the Basic Education Research Fund (BERF). The afternoon session was devoted to the workshop proper. Participants from both the elementary and secondary schools presented their initial research titles to the resource speakers for comments and suggestions.
TEP Faculty trainers assured Dr. Sibayan that the NEUST team will continuously work with the research proposal writing process of the teachers and school heads, offering their help through periodic consultations that would help enhance their papers and improve the probability of being a BERF grantee.
A Memorandum of Agreement between SDO Rizal Annex and NEUST TEP Gabaldon Campus is in the works to formally forge the partnership between the two institutions.
